In the year since you were last addressed, the Gamma Tau chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has experienced nothing short of a landmark year. Together, we have transformed our most ambitious goals into our proudest achievements.

We were, at the beginning of the year, a chapter of just over thirty men. Though we were small in numbers, it was our unity and dedication that made us large. The year began with the validation of all of our hard work in 2013, when we won six out of the eight IFC awards, including our second consecutive Chapter of the Year award. Later that semester, we threw our first registered party, Blizzard Beach. The party was a huge success and firmly established our on-cam- pus social presence. Finally, last May, in what was perhaps our finest hour as a chapter thus far, our hard work fundraising to help Emily Rose walk across the stage finally came to fruition. Emily is a friend of the chapter who uses a wheelchair, and she wanted special leg braces so she could fulfill her vision of walking the stage at her graduation. We were privileged to be involved in this project with such an inspirational person like Emily.

Over the summer, we moved in to our first chapter house. The houses has room for fourteen brothers and has at provided us with a head- quarters suitable for all chapter operations, and a place of common ground to foster brotherhood.

We greatly expanded our involvement in external philanthropies in both the Fall of 2014 and Spring 2015, winning Delta Gamma’s “Anchorsplash,” Alpha Phi’s “Mr. HeartThrob,” and Kappa Delta’s “Shamrock Run.”

In Fall of 2014, we initiated Theta pledge class—our largest to date. The initia- tion of Theta, combined with the initiation of Eta Class from the semester prior, nearly doubled the chapter in size.

This Spring, we have already executed two philanthropy events and have two more in the planning stages. Our now annual “Blizzard Beach” party was held, along with our biggest “War of the Roses” to date. War of the Roses is a weeklong competi- tion between sororities that is hosted and planned by Pi Kappa Phi. Competition events included Jeopardy, a field day, and a restaurant fundraiser.

We are incredibly optimistic for the coming academic year, and it is with a strong conviction that with a redoubling of our recruitment efforts, a renewed commitment to our philanthropy, and the generous assistance of the Alumni Chapter-- we shall come one step closer becoming the Ideal Chapter. ODH.

Yours in Pi Kappa Phi,
The Brothers of Gamma Tau
